Four-Day Week: A Sin of Omission in Economics
In 1970, Paul Samuelson, a Nobel laureate and a foundational figure in modern economics, called the four-day week a “momentous social invention.” Why are today’s economists so skeptical about shortening the working week? In this talk, we’ll discuss the multiple effects by which the working hours would may affect companies, the economy, the retirement age and society.
