Marias is employed as an associate professor in economics at the University of Iceland. He reiceived his Ph.D. degree in economics from Aarhus University in 2010. Prior to that, he received a B.Sc. and an M.Sc. degree in economics from the University of Iceland and a Cand.Oecon degree in economics from Aarhus University. His research are mainly in the field of ageing and pensions and he has published articles in that field in journals such as Macroeconomic Dynamics, Journal of Risk and Insurance, Journal of Demographic Economicss and Journal of Economics.
