Lúðvík Elíasson

Lúðvík Elíasson is deputy director of Monetary Policy and Economics at the Central Bank of Iceland and head of research and forecasting. His research is mainly focused on economic growth in the face of limited resources and the economics of housing markets and the macroeconomy. Lúðvík was in the research department at the National Bank of Iceland  from 2005 to 2008. He worked for the Parliamentary Special Investigation Commissions on the banking crisis and on the Housing Financing Fund. He was the chief economist at MP Bank from 2009 to 2011. Prior to joining the Monetary Policy and Economics department in 2018 he was a research economist in the Central Bank’s Financial Stability department. Lúðvík has a PhD in Economics from the University of Washington.
