Katrín Ólafsdóttir

 

Katrín Ólafsdóttir is Associate Professor in the Department of Business and Economics at Reykjavik University. Katrín received her PhD in labor economics from Cornell University in the U.S.A.

Katrin’s research is in the field of labor economics and HRM. She has studied wage development in the Icelandic labor market through the Great recession and organizational decisions involving layoffs and wage cuts. She has studied gender effects in the labor market, both in terms of wage developments as well as occupational change. Katrín has also studied well-being in relation to the gender composition of workplaces.

Katrín is a member of the Competition Appeals Committee and served on the Central Bank’s Monetary Policy Committee from 2012-2022.
