Gylfi Magnússon is a professor at the University of Iceland and the Dean of the School of Business. His research interests are diverse but have mainly focused on the Icelandic economy. He served in Iceland’s government in 2009-2010, first as Minister of Business Affairs and then as Minister of Economic Affairs. He has also served on several company and institutional boards, is currently the chair of the supervisory board of the Icelandic Central Bank and has previously been the chair of the board of the Icelandic Competition Authority. Gylfi Magnússon holds a degree in Business Administration and Economics from the University of Iceland and a Ph.D. in Economics from Yale University.
