Rannveig Sigurðardóttir was appointed Deputy Governor of monetary policy at the Central Bank of Iceland in 2020 after holding the position of Deputy Governor from 2018. Before that, she was Deputy Chief Economist and Deputy Director of the Economics and Monetary Policy Division of the Central Bank. Rannveig previously worked as an economist for labor unions, BSRB and ASÍ. Rannveig is an economist by training and graduated with a fil. kand. degree and a Master’s degree from Gothenburg University where she also pursued doctoral studies. Her research has mainly been in the field of labor market economics.
